Midewest Gaming Classic Report
by Daniel Iacovelli
This was my first time at the show as an actual vendor at the show.
When I got there at around 10am, I don’t drive so I had take mega bus from Chicago Union station to Downtown Milwaukee Amtrak station then a shared shuttle van to the show, I saw the lines going out the door and around the corner. Luckily, Dan Loosen saw me and got me to my table. I was located in back next to Trade N Games and behind Songbird Productions
In the Jagfest part of the table(which was AVC Online(me),Max’s Nuon system and Songbird Production’s table). While we didn’t sell anything at the show, we did make a lot of connections for the club and my own show in July. And we did do a live video feed from our table for our first remote broadcast of our video cast, we also took pictures as well.
I would estimate close to over 1000 people came for this show, both days were pretty busy and so were the tournaments from what I heard.
At one tournament, Paul “ZimmZamm” Zimmerman rolled the score on Phoenix on the 2600 and scored 1,124,779, which would have been a world record but since no Twin Galaxies referee was present to validate the score and they wouldn’t accept the video from others, it wasn’t recorded for Twin Galaxies. Pretty much around 4:30pm the crowd staring to die down on the second day, but over all I say that Goat store topped their selves this year.
They have announced that they will be moving the show to bigger location in the future to accommodate the big crowds. AVC Online will most likely have another table next year as well with Jagfest On tour items.
